Weren’t things easier when we were kids?  Not just for the fact that we didn’t have to earn and living, pay bills and taxes, and take care of others.  Although we didn’t always like it, we learned the simple steps that we need to take to make it through the day by living everyday life:

 

Eat your breakfast, it’s the most important meal of the day.

Your bored, go outside and play!

Eat your vegetables, you need them to grow big and strong.

Do your homework and plan for the tests in life so you can do well.

Someone needs a nap!

Dance, shoot, hit the ball, run, jump, kick, dribble, dribble, dribble.

Yes, we can go the {insert your favorite here: park, roller skating rink, pool, court, rec center} .

Your still hungry?  You can have a piece of fruit.

No more TV, its beautiful outside, go  and have fun!

No, you can’t have ice cream until you finish your dinner.

Time for bed, you have a big day tomorrow.

 

I think the reason why we relate to this advice is because it represents the basic understanding of how we are to best take care of ourselves, stay healthy, and live a life full of vitality.  We all need proper nutrition, exercise, recreation, rest and time for planning – not just as children.  Maybe its time to revisit this advice as an adult.
